Royal British Legion “Thank You” Day

2 September 2018

The Knotty Heritage Train running day at Foxfield was very special with support of the Royal British Legion to run the event as part of their "Thank You" campaign which they're organising this year to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice.   Please see their link:

The event was a "thank you" to various groups, with various themed stalls and presentations plus some animals to amuse the kids - shire horse, ponies, owls and hawks. We recreated the atmosphere of a North Staffordshire village market square with railway station when the troops came home from the front in 1918.   Various local groups ran stalls, with performances from  The Borderlines Theatre Group (New Vic Theatre) and the Peace Through Folk Choir.

Most important duty of the day - the Knotty Heritage Train will be helping bring back our brave “Tommies” from the front as you can see from these photos!
